Should teenagers in schools be required to look after fake realistic babies? My daughter brought one of these home. For whatever reason it started to cry and would not stop. It stopped. It had been pre set to be fed,changed, bathed and merely to cry. I was a nervous wreck when I went to bed. I got up in the night to find a drink and my daughter was on the couch with the baby in the store in a position that was specific. If the place was jeopardized the baby would cry. She was diligent although I offered to let my daughter sleep a bit. I started to giggle when she arrived from her room to go to church. Her eyes had grey bags under them,she had thrown her hair into a ponytail bothering to brush it , she looked haggard. I told her I’d watch the baby so that she could get ready but she didn’t care. That outside the door went my daughter and night at church that the baby began to cry. She had to go way down the hall because the baby was so loud. The baby was real because I would not let my daughter sit with me since she had a baby, we had a visitor berate me and go to the pastor. Pastor laughed and explained the baby was a homework assignment and was not real. Making an extra required class like parenting, takes time away from other classes that are more relevant to this student.Relatively few pupils are teen parents. Therefore it would make sense to require teen parents to take the class (but not take home a baby, they have to concentrate attention on the one that’s real) or give students the option of taking a parenting class.But making every pupil in the school take home a baby causes unnecessary strain for small enough gain. The majority of the kids wouldn’t have gotten pregnant anyway. Kids don’t want to have children. The ones who are impulsive enough to do it by accident are unlikely to consider the toy infant in that moment of impulsiveness.For the teenagers who are seriously considering having children? He did pretty well, yesterday. He managed to still do some of the things he likes to do, mainly because the baby slept most of the day. He tells me I got this. No problem! Luckily, my health class permits you to write a five to six page essay about parenting rather than taking a baby home.I don’t think so.
